Amazon US · hydrogel eye patch · dossier 08
Beauty of Joseon sells sixty ginseng-and-retinal hydrogel patches in a jar at $16.00 against a $22.00 list. The formula is long, the actives sit at the bottom of it, and the listing's headline clinical number was measured with a serum the patch does not include.

01Product information
A jar of sixty soaked hydrogel patches, not a cream. Each patch is crescent-shaped with a wing at the outer corner, and the listing pitches that shape for under-eyes, forehead, smile lines and neck. The jar is 3.7 by 3.62 by 1.85 inches and 3.52 ounces gross. At sixty sheets it is a thirty-day supply at twice daily, sixty at once daily.
The formula is water-based ginseng plus a retinoid. Panax ginseng root water is the first line; retinal is the thirty-second of thirty-three. Between them sit eight hydrocolloid gelling agents and four pigments, which is what turns a liquid essence into a sheet you can lift out of a jar. Collagen, ceramide and peptide are named as the barrier layer. The one hard number on the page is a 28.10 percent improvement in the look of wrinkles after four weeks on 22 subjects - and the same sentence says it applies when the patch is paired with the Revive Eye Serum. Alone, the patch was not the thing tested.

What the brand panels show
Benefit pills, not a mechanism
The second image stacks three coral pills - Smoothing, Firming, Hydrating - over four check-marked claims, one of which is "Clinically Proven Under-Eye Care". The proof it points at is the 28.10 percent figure in the bullets, which is conditional on a second product.
A reseller wordmark on a brand listing
"Sunscreen Worldwide" appears across the top of the second gallery image. The seller of record is BEAUTY OF JOSEON OFFICIAL, so this is either a brand-approved asset carrying a distributor's mark or an image inherited from a reseller listing. The page does not say which.
The third panel drops every number
Key Benefits names firmness, wrinkles and barrier care with no percentage, no timeframe and no subject count. All three are supported by the ingredient list, and none of the three is measurable from what the panel shows.
No A+ body text
The A+ block renders as four collapsed modules with no readable copy in the captured output. Nothing in this report is sourced from it.
02Product rating and buyer voice
4.5
out of five · 147 ratings
A 4.5 average across 147 ratings, with 77 percent of them five-star and only 4 percent one-star, is the profile of a product that does what buyers expected. The middle is thin - 7, 3 and 9 percent - so this is not a listing where a large minority is quietly disappointed.
The one theme that leans negative is adhesion, at 40 percent positive across five mentions. That is a small sample, but it is also the only failure mode a hydrogel patch can have that a cream cannot: if the sheet slides, the product does nothing at all.
Star distribution
| Stars | Share | Approx. ratings | Cumulative |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5 star | 77% | ~113 | 77% |
| 4 star | 9% | ~13 | 86% |
| 3 star | 7% | ~10 | 93% |
| 2 star | 3% | ~4 | 96% |
| 1 star | 4% | ~6 | 100% |
Shares are whole-number percentages printed by the listing. The approximate rating counts are computed from those shares against 147 and will not sum exactly. On a base this small, a single bucket covers only a handful of ratings - the 4 percent one-star block is roughly six ratings in total.
What buyers talk about
| Theme | Mentions | Positive | Negative | Positive share |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| effectiveness | 14 | 11 | 3 | 79% |
| adhesion | 5 | 2 | 3 | 40% |
Two aspects only. Effectiveness at 79 percent positive across 14 mentions is a real signal; adhesion at 40 percent across 5 mentions is a hint. Neither is a substitute for review text, and this listing publishes none.
In the platform’s own summary
“Customers find the eye patches effective, with one mentioning they keep their under eyes bright and glowy. The adhesion receives mixed feedback, with several customers saying they stay on well.”
What is missing from this section
Zero review bodies and zero buyer photos render for this ASIN. The five-star share and the two aspect counts are the entire buyer voice available, so no specific complaint about sliding patches can be quoted or verified. This report does not reconstruct reviews from the aggregate.
03Product ingredients
Thirty-three ingredients is a long list for a product whose job is to hold water against the skin for fifteen minutes. Most of the length is structure rather than skincare: eight hydrocolloid gelling agents - carrageenan, algin, locust bean gum, xanthan, glucomannan, collagen, collagen water and maltodextrin - plus four pigments that give the sheet its pearlescent look. Twelve of thirty-three lines exist so the patch can be a patch.
That matters for reading the benefit counts. Hydrating is credited with thirteen ingredients and barrier repair with seven, but several of those are the matrix itself, which is wet by definition. The functional actives - adenosine, bakuchiol, retinal, acetyl hexapeptide-8 - are four lines at positions 19 and 31 to 33, and they carry every claim about wrinkles, pores, brightness and breakouts on their own.
Coverage
All thirty-three rows were captured with function labels. Twenty-nine of them publish no comedogenic or irritancy score, which leaves four scored rows - glycerin, butylene glycol, titanium dioxide and allantoin - to carry both level charts. That is not a partial capture; it is what the aggregator holds for this formula. A level distribution built on four of thirty-three rows describes the carrier, not the product, and is presented that way.
Claim matrix
Eleven of twelve badges hold. The single failure is pore-clogger-free, and it rests on one precautionary flag: Chondrus Crispus, the carrageenan that gives the patch its body, is flagged for acne-prone skin from user reports and closely related ingredients rather than from direct testing. The aggregator says so on the row itself. A sheet mask worn for fifteen minutes is also the least likely format for a pore-clogging flag to matter.
Comedogenic levels, counted
Four rows carry a comedogenic score: three at level 0 (glycerin, titanium dioxide, allantoin) and one at level 1 (butylene glycol). Nothing reaches level 2. That is a clean reading and a nearly empty one - twenty-nine rows, including retinal and bakuchiol, are unrated, so the chart is best read as "the four scored ingredients in this jar are benign" rather than "this formula is non-comedogenic".
Irritancy levels, counted
The same four rows, all at irritancy level 0. Again, the number is real but the denominator is four. The one ingredient a buyer might actually worry about here - retinal, a retinoid - has no score at all on this page, and its irritancy is the reason retinoids are introduced slowly. The absence of a flag is not a clearance.
What each ingredient is doing here
Sorted by job, the hydrocolloid block is the largest at eight, and humectants, pigments and functional actives tie at four each. The structural half of the formula is therefore twice the size of the active half. That is normal for a hydrogel sheet and it is also why a benefit count of thirteen for hydration should not be read as thirteen hydrating actives.
Benefits the formula can support
Hydrating at thirteen and anti-ageing at eight are the two numbers the brand would want a buyer to see. Read the counts as aggregator tags, not as evidence of concentration: retinal is one of the eight anti-ageing ingredients, and it sits at position 32 of 33, behind every gum and pigment in the jar.
Key ingredients
Retinal (retinoid)
Visibly reduces the signs of aging. The only retinoid in the formula, and the 32nd of 33 ingredients.
Bakuchiol
Encourages gentle skin renewal and boosts firmness without the irritation of a retinoid.
Ceramide NP
Locks in moisture and supports the skin barrier.
Acetyl Hexapeptide-8
Supports hydration and improves the look of firmness.
Antioxidants
Hydroxyacetophenone and bakuchiol, shielding skin from free-radical damage.
Tin Oxide
Classified by the aggregator as an exfoliator; in this product it is a pearlescent pigment.
The clinical number belongs to a different routine
The bullet reads: clinically tested to improve the look of wrinkles around the eyes by 28.10 percent after four weeks, when paired with Revive Eye Serum, according to a four-week study on 22 subjects. Every clause narrows the claim. It is a paired regimen, not the patch alone; it is 22 people, not a cohort; and it is four weeks, which is the minimum window in which a retinoid shows anything. Buyers comparing this figure with an eye cream's own percentage are comparing a two-product routine to a one-product one.
Flags worth knowing
A renewed listing for a pre-soaked sheet mask
The ASIN title ends in "(Renewed)". Renewed cosmetics are returned, repackaged or overstock units, and for a jar of sixty liquid-soaked patches that raises a question a sealed tube does not: how long the sheets have been wet. The seller of record is the brand's official store, which is reassuring about authenticity and says nothing about the jar's history.
Retinal without a sun warning
Retinal is a retinoid and the aggregator flags it for rosacea-prone skin. The listing mentions no SPF guidance anywhere, and the patches are marketed for the under-eye, which is thin skin. Nothing on the page is wrong; something a retinoid product usually says is missing.
Bakuchiol and retinal in the same jar
Both are present, at positions 31 and 32. That is a deliberate belt-and-braces approach to retinoid signalling, and it also doubles the exposure for anyone who reacts to either. Neither carries an irritancy score here.
Reef-safe badge versus a non-reef-safe row
The badge says nothing in the formula fails reef standards. Titanium dioxide, line 16, carries a non-reef-safe flag on its own row. The badge is about the finished formula and the row is about the ingredient in the abstract, so both can be true - but a buyer reading only the badges gets a cleaner story than the table supports.

A range in a rating cell is scored at its upper bound for the level counts. “—” means the database publishes no rating for that ingredient, which is not the same as a clearance.
04Product price
The tracker has watched this ASIN for six days and holds exactly one price: $16.00, read on 26 October 2026. There is no lowest ever, no highest ever and no average, because a record with one observation has nothing to compare against. The Amazon and used channels are empty.
What the page does give is a list price of $22.00, which the listing discounts by 27 percent, plus a subscribe price of $14.40. Against Sephora's $20.00 for the same 60-count jar, Amazon is 20 percent cheaper. Those three numbers are the only price comparison this product supports.

| Lowest ever | Not recorded | The record holds one observation, so it is also the lowest |
| Highest ever | Not recorded | Same single observation |
| All-time average | Not computed | An average of one reading is not an average |
| Current, tracked Oct 26, 2026 | $16.00 | The only figure in the history table |
| List price on the listing | $22.00 | Current is 27% below it |
| Subscribe and save | $14.40 | 10% below the current price, 35% below list |
| Sephora retail (Skinsort citation) | $20.00 | Amazon is 20% below the Sephora price |
| Amazon buy box today | $16.00 | Parity with the tracked reading |
Every figure in the table is transcribed as printed; the percentage comparisons below it are derived and labelled. A dash means the tracker states it has no data, not that the price was zero. The three bars in the chart therefore mix one tracked reading with two on-page reference prices, and the caption says so.

05Verdict, method and limits
Good fit
Anyone who wants a fifteen-minute under-eye treatment with a real retinoid in it, at $0.27 a sheet, and who will use it as part of a routine rather than as a standalone fix. The five-star share and the effectiveness count both say it delivers a visible, temporary plumping.
Poor fit
Anyone expecting the 28.10 percent figure from the patches alone - the study paired them with a serum. Also poor for rosacea-prone skin, where retinal is a flagged trigger, and for buyers who will not accept a renewed listing on a jar of pre-soaked sheets.
The honest read
A well-formulated hydrogel patch with a genuine retinoid, sold at a fair per-sheet price and described with a claim that belongs to a two-product routine. The ingredient list is honest about its own hierarchy: the actives are last, the matrix is most of it. Buy it for the fifteen minutes of occlusion and the $0.27 sheet, not for the percentage.

Limits
- No review bodies and no buyer photos render for this ASIN, so no buyer statement is quoted or checkable.
- Twenty-nine of thirty-three ingredients carry no comedogenic or irritancy score. Both level charts rest on four rows and describe the carrier rather than the formula.
- The price record holds one observation over six days. No period statistic, trend or floor can be derived from it.
- The 28.10 percent clinical figure is quoted as the listing states it and was measured with an accompanying serum, on 22 subjects, over four weeks. It is not a measurement of this patch alone.
- The listing is a renewed unit. Nothing in this report establishes the condition, age or seal status of the jar that ships.
- Reef-safe is reported as the badge states it; titanium dioxide carries a contrary per-ingredient flag that this report records rather than resolves.
- Rank, price and rating are a snapshot taken on 1 November 2026.
